Meet Your Coach
A trusted guide for the pressures of scale.

Vijay Rajendran is a Berkeley-trained executive coach based in Silicon Valley. After 20 years as an entrepreneur, investor, and advisor, he has supported hundreds of founders and helped them on their journey to becoming CEOs. He believes that through leadership coaching at pivotal moments, we can better the world, one bold leader at a time.
Vijay has led portfolio value at 500 Global, a venture capital firm with $2.7 billion under management. He led a global team that helped startups in over 80 countries, and their founders, develop connections, raise capital, and create a thriving community. Previously, he led a venture studio for a global bank, founded a startup in fintech and e-commerce, and was a management consultant. Vijay received a BS in Business Administration from Boston University as well as an MS in Foreign Service and an MBA from Georgetown University. He is also an alumnus of the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute and holds the Associate Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation. Vijay is the author of the 2025 top new release, The Funding Framework: Secure Startup Funding with Confidence, published by Leader's Press. He teaches Leadership and Change Management for Startup Founders at UC Berkeley.
Vijay spent many years as a strategy consultant. Of course, coaching is very different from consulting and mentoring; the agenda and goals are set by clients, rather than by providing solutions to generic situations or trying to fix them as individuals. He helps them be resilient rather than perfect. Being authentic and being themselves. They can bring their genius to work and wake up every day feeling limitless and fulfilled.

Built for the leaders shaping what comes next.
This is for you if
- You raised a seed or Series A, and the job changed under you. What worked at ten people is breaking at forty.
- You're still the bottleneck. Decisions wait for you, and you know that's a problem you created.
- You're leading people who are better than you at their jobs, and you're not sure how to lead them.
- The company is growing faster than you are, and the gap is starting to show.
This is probably not for you if
- You're pre-raise and focused on getting the round closed. That's a different kind of help.
- You want tactical advice handed to you. Coaching sets the agenda from your goals; it doesn't hand you a playbook.
The Engagement Model
High-touch, one-to-one. Built around your actual bottleneck.
Diagnose the bottleneck
We start by finding what's actually constraining you, not the symptom you came in with. Usually it's a decision you keep deferring, a role you can't let go of, or a conversation you've been avoiding. We name it precisely before we touch anything else.
Install the framework
You get decision-making and leadership frameworks that fit how you actually operate, so the next hard call doesn't require me in the room. The goal is capability you keep, not dependence on a coach.
Operate at the new altitude
We work on the live problems as they happen: the board meeting, the exec hire, the reorg, the co-founder tension. Real situations, in real time, until leading at this level feels normal instead of overwhelming.
The Details
What working together looks like
Format
One-to-one coaching, two 90-minute sessions a month, with direct access between sessions when a live situation needs a fast read.
Commitment
Engagements run a minimum of three months, because leadership change doesn't happen in a single conversation.
Availability
I keep a small number of clients at a time, so the work stays deep.
First step
A trial call. We find out whether this is a fit before either of us commits. No pitch.
